SAVE THE CHILDREN SIERRA LEONE JOINS THE FIRST LADY OF SIERRA LEONE ON "HANDS OFF OUR GIRLS" CAMPAIGN.

Pujehun is one of the Districts in the Southern Part of Sierra Leone, where women and girls are extremely vulnerable. The First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Madam Fatima Bio took " Hands off our Girls " campaign to the district and Save the Children was invited as one of the sponsors of the campaign.

In her speech, the Director of Communication and Advocacy at Save the Children, Ramatu Jalloh  told the gathering of chiefs and other stakeholders that Pujehun District is one of the districts in the country that has a record of high teenage pregnancy and early marriage.  Madam Ramatu added that " when these pregnant girls go to the hospital they end up losing their lives. Many have dropped out of school because of early marriage". She called on all stakeholders in the District  to take the message of " Hands off our Girls" to their subjects.

On Friday, the Director of Communication was also with the First Lady in Moyamba District, where thousands of natives in Moyamba welcomed them.
