Children from various regions of Sierra Leone gathered at Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary for a two-day green workshop organized by Save the Children. The workshop's primary focus was to develop messages about climate change, and the children used forest games to help them learn more about the topic.
The participating children come from Kailahun, Pujehun, and the Western Area and have already seen the devastating effects of climate change firsthand. They had the unique opportunity to observe chimpanzees up close and learn about their role in the ecosystem. The workshop aimed to empower them to act and spread awareness in their communities about the importance of animals in maintaining a healthy balance in society.
The children developed messages that conveyed how climate change is affecting them personally and what adults can do to help protect the environment. They will also create songs and act as climate change ambassadors for their peers and communities.
Save the Children has long been dedicated to improving the lives of children across the globe, and this workshop is just one of the many ways the organization is working to create a more sustainable future for all. Through education and engagement, these young people are helping to inspire positive change and pave the way towards a greener, more sustainable world.
The Save the Children Sierra Leone Climate Change Campaign will be led by these young agents of change. By raising awareness and promoting sustainable practices, they will work towards a greener and more sustainable future for their country. Through their actions, these children are inspiring others to take responsibility for the environment and to protect the planet for future generations.
The children's newfound knowledge and passion for environmental conservation have empowered them to act and spread awareness in their communities. The workshop has inspired them to take their message to their homes, schools, and communities, and to become advocates for a better future. By working together, these young people are making a difference and helping to create a brighter future for all.
